pH Meter Series
pH measurement is widely applied in various fields such as universities,environmental protection,medicine,food,health,geology,metallurgy,and oceanography. Common acid rain,surface water,industrial wastewater,drinking water,beverages,daily chemical products,textiles,etc.,all need to undergo pH measurement. Since the hydrogen ion activity is often very small,it is inconvenient to use the concentration representation,so the pH value is used to represent the acidity and alkalinity of the aqueous solution. The definition of pH is the negative logarithm of the activity of hydrogen ions. The commonly used glass pH electrode is a hydrogen ion-selective electrode sensitive to H+. The foundation and core of pH measurement is the electrode. It is composed of an indicator electrode and a reference electrode. When the pH value (H+ activity) of the solution changes,the potential change between the pH glass electrode and the reference electrode is measured by a pH meter,thereby determining the pH value of the solution.

There are various ions in nature,and there are many methods for detecting ions. The ion-selective electrode method has advantages such as simple operation and low detection limit,and is often used to detect the content of various ions in aqueous solutions.

Generally,we use conductance (the reciprocal of resistance) to measure the conductivity of a solution. The ability to transmit current is also measured by conductivity (the reciprocal of resistivity). When current passes through the electrode,oxidation or reduction reactions occur,causing changes in the properties of the solution near the electrode and resulting in a "polarization" phenomenon,which in turn affects the accuracy of conductivity measurement. Therefore,the general method for measuring conductance is the high-frequency alternating current measurement method,which can reduce or eliminate the above-mentioned polarization phenomenon. Conductance electrodes are generally composed of a pair of parallel plates with fixed areas and positions. However,since the effective area and distance of the electrodes cannot be accurately measured,the electrode constant is usually determined with potassium chloride (KCI) or sodium chloride (NaCl) standard solutions. When using them,it is advisable to select standard solutions that are as close as possible to the solution to be measured to minimize measurement errors.

The dissolved oxygen (DO) in natural water is close to the saturation value (about 9mg/). When algae multiply vigorously,the dissolved oxygen content decreases. Pollution of water bodies by organic matter and reducing substances can reduce dissolved oxygen. The main factors influencing dissolved oxygen in water are: temperature,air pressure and salt content. Dissolved oxygen varies with changes in temperature,air pressure and salt content. Generally speaking,the higher the temperature,the greater the dissolved salt and the lower the dissolved oxygen in water. The higher the air pressure,the higher the dissolved oxygen in the water. According to the indication principle and the chemical reactions that occur,the commonly used indication methods in titration analysis can generally be classified into: potentiometric titration,coulometric titration,stationary titration,conductive titration,photometric titration and temperature titration. Compared with indicator titration,potentiometric titration has the advantages of being objective and reliable,having high accuracy,being easy to automate,and not being limited by the color or turbidity of the solution. It is an important analytical method.

REDOX potential (ORP) is used to reflect the macroscopic REDOX properties exhibited by all substances in aqueous solutions. The higher the REDOX potential,the stronger the oxidizing property; the lower the REDOX potential,the stronger the reducing property. An ORP meter is used to measure the ORP of a solution,with the unit being mV. A positive potential indicates that the solution shows a certain degree of oxidizing property,while a negative potential indicates that the solution shows a certain degree of reducing property.
